In this module you will:

• Remember and define essential mental health concepts and terminology (e.g., mental health, well-being, mental illness).

• Understand the biological, psychological, social, and cultural factors influencing mental well-being.

• Apply the concept of the biopsychosocial model to examples from migrant and refugee contexts.

• Analyse how stigma and discrimination affect mental health, especially in vulnerable populations.

• Understand common mental health challenges faced by migrants and refugees, such as trauma, anxiety, and depression.

• Apply knowledge of early identification principles to recognise basic warning signs of mental distress.
